Awesome blog! A young Filipina writing about helping our country move forward through posting beautiful spots and things about the Philippines, buying Philippine-made products, and respecting our flag to honor the people who died and fought for our freedom, has made me optimistic about the future of our country. Helena, young as she is, knows exactly what she can contribute for nation-building.
TumugonBurahinvery well said! happy to hear that young people like you is doing such a great effort to show their love for our country.Good job... Keep it up! Proud to be Filipino!
TumugonBurahinNaalis ng may-ari ang komentong ito.
TumugonBurahinthat.blog.is.awesome.
TumugonBurahinAs.a.filipino.we.should.be.proud.of.our.country.we.should.love.it.and.most.of.all.we.should.show.to.everyone.the.beauty.of.philippines.your.blog.will.help.us.how.to.be.nationalism.great.job!
It is good that you enumerated this for other filipinos to know that in their simple ways they could show their love for the country. You are right when you said that respecting the flag now a days is considered a responsibility than an act, done wholeheartedly.Continue your blogging so that our fellow filipinos would restore love for nationalism. Two thumbs up helena de la cruz your blog is very inspiring to all the filipinos..Proud to be a filipino and be loyal in patronizing our own products..
TumugonBurahinIts good that your sense of nationalism begins at the basic consciousness of being a proud Filipino. Loyalty and devotion to our country and placing primary emphasis in promoting our very own is a nice thing to hear.
TumugonBurahinGreat job :) Nationalism is not just a vague concept waived in our faces by activists and politicians. Rather, it is a civic duty everyone must practice. More power to you :)
TumugonBurahinIt is nice to know that someone has the initiative to remind us about the things that we should not forget. I hope a lot of filipinos would be able to read this blog to realize what i had just realized.
TumugonBurahinI couldn't agree more. Well done!
TumugonBurahinNationalism had been greatly affected by factors that made the Filipinos as helpless and voiceless against their colonizers. These factors are: 1. Lack of Unity among Filipinos due to: • Divided barangays with their respective chieftains • The domination and control of Christianity as a religion introduced by the Spaniards.
TumugonBurahinBig things come in small packages. Any kind of help for the country is a big gesture for all humanity. Patriotism is not only found in the battle field. Patriotism is more of taking your stand in developing the economic sustainability of your countrymen. Alleviate poverty and helping the poor. Pledging allegiance to the Philippine flag is a big responsibilty that most Filipino men has long forgotten. I will share this article with the youth. And will recommend this for all generations.
TumugonBurahinWow! A well put together blog by a young Filipina, patronizing her country and encouraging others to show their love by buying their own products (tangkilikin ang sariling atin), respecting the Philippine flag and holding its true value with dignity & integrity and honoring those who fought for its freedom. You are awesome, Helena Dela Cruz! Keep up the good work. Remember that you gotta love and respect your own self, before you can truly embrace others wholeheartedly. I hope for many more young women like you who show love & respect for their country. Seeing your blog made me even more proud of our country and grounded me as a Filipina abroad, who support and continue to embrace our beliefs and values. Mabuhay ka Helena! We are proud to be Filipinos!!!! ;)
BurahinYou're right Helena! Little things mean a lot.. They have the power to move and jump start bigger changes..
TumugonBurahinOther small acts of patriotism that our youth can do for our country are written in the book of Alex Lacson, The "12 Little Things Our Youth Can Do to Help Our Country". These are the following:
1. Be on time. Honor your commitments.
2. Fall in line. Respect others and wait for your turn.
3. Sing our national anthem with pride and honor.
4. Study well. Give your best in everything you do.
5. Be honest. Say NO to cheating, lying, stealing. Report any crime or any illegal act.
6. Conserve water. Plant a tree. Throw your trash properly.
7. Stay healthy. Avoid cigarettes, drugs and vices.
8. Buy Pinoy. Do not buy fake or smuggled goods.
9. Save. Plan ahead. Learn business early.
10. During elections, choose and support candidates who stand for what is right and good.
11. Respect your elders. Practice "mano po.” Say "po” and "opo”.
12. Pray for our country and our people.
;;)
very nice. Yes be proud to be a Filipino. Magagaling ang mga kabataan ngayon tunay na kayo ang kinabukasan ng atin bayan. :)
TumugonBurahinGood Job Helena! You remind us the value of the Filipino culture, especially of the youth today. Remember the saying: "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan."
TumugonBurahinWhat Filipinos lack nowadays is the sense of patriotism and nationalism. This affects the level of self discipline and hinders our growth as a nation. It is a relief knowing that there are still students like Helena who still bears the virtue of a true Filipina. May your tribe increase.
TumugonBurahinGood job, Helena!
TumugonBurahinAt this day and age, nationalism is seldom given the importance it deserves. That is why it is such a delight to witness someone as young as Helena express her love for her country and with so much pride. After all, the Philippines, despite it's challenges has it's own beauty for the world to see. Just like Helena, I have great admiration for Filipino creativity. I hope more people will be challenged to share the beauty of this country which others have yet to realize. ---- Lea May Riego
TumugonBurahinMigy to ate helena, great job with your project!
TumugonBurahinGood job Helena! Very well said!
TumugonBurahinIt's so nice to hear such inspiring words from a very young & pretty lady like you Helena. You can also do this by being a good example, beginning from even the simple things. It's a matter of love, faith & devotion to one's homeland. Keep it up!!!
TumugonBurahinVery well said. There are a lot of students in some high schools who do not respect the flag especially during flag retreat. They continue to talk with one another even upon seeing the flag being lowered. Its nice to see that there are still people who show their love for the country
TumugonBurahingood luck with your project!
TumugonBurahinGood job cousin! Because your blog is about Filipino Nationalism mag Filipino ako dahil isa itong pagpapatunay na mahal ko ang ating wika.
TumugonBurahinwell done,, good job Helena.. very inspiring
TumugonBurahinHi Helena, you impressed me pretty young lass. Your blog is an eye opener. Knowing that you are very young to think this way. You have imparted your deep concern to the welfare of our country and countrymen. You have shown your love for the country in your own little and simple ways. Job well done. Looking forward to read more of your works in the days to come. Continue to inspire other people especially the young like you by setting good examples likewhat you did in this blog. Keep up the good works and congratulations...
TumugonBurahinGreat! only shows your innate desire to love our own country...truly very essential in a democratic country...Keep it up!
